Son Spills Drink All Over Store’s Floor, Dad’s Reaction Stops Stranger In Her Tracks

Raising kids is a messy business. You have to teach them right from wrong and personal responsibilities. There are plenty of roadblocks, bruises, and spills along the way. But, the lessons learned during these years are vital to helping them grow into productive adults.

One father is being applauded for a job well done after his son created a big mess at the food court in Target. Facebook user Kalynne Marie witnessed this and decided to share it on Facebook so others might follow this dad’s lead. Her post quickly went viral as our society is badly in need of more responsible parenting.

The little boy who was about 6 years old spilled his slushy all over the floor. This created a huge, colorful, sticky mess. Rather than walk away from it or ask for one of the employees to clean it up, this dad decided to teach his son a lesson in personal responsibility.

The dad calmly grabbed a boatload of napkins and taught his son how to clean up the mess he created. The mess was his and he was going to clean it up rather than pass it on to the next person. The dad also explained that these accidents are things we all encounter at some point. He shouldn’t feel bad. He should just clean it up and move on!

Kaylnne Marie reported that the father told his son, “You’re going to be a human being for a long time, and you have such a smart brain that it’s important you learn how to be more aware of what you’re doing. So next time, just be sure to pay more attention to your surroundings so accidents like this don’t happen. Accidents like these can be prevented, but it’s still okay if they happen. As long as you take responsibility for your mistakes, the clean up is a breeze.”
