Mark Henry Says He’s Signed An Ambassador Deal With WWE

Mark Henry has not been seen inside a WWE ring in nearly a year, with his last match being the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 33, leaving many fans to wonder if he’s retired.

However, Henry recently told Sports Illustrated that he’s “not retired,” but wants to spend more time with his kids.

“I love the WWE, I love the company, but I have two kids and they want me home,” said Henry. “They want me to see their recitals and sporting events, and I want to see them grow and evolve. My dad didn’t live with me when I was growing up, and he missed so much. I am not going to repeat that.”

And in a second interview with Busted Open Radio, Henry confirmed that he’s signed a deal to be a WWE Ambassador, serving as a public representative or spokesman for the company. It’s a role Henry has been in before: he previously served as WWE’s ambassador to the Rio Olympics in 2016.

Henry also shared his thoughts on the current WWE roster with hosts Dave Legreca and Bully Ray. Notably, Henry said that Daniel Bryan “should be in the Hall of Fame when he’s done, but he’s not done yet.” However, he said that Vince McMahon will need definitive proof that Bryan won’t end up a wheelchair before he’ll clear him to wrestle.

Henry also revealed that he’s most excited to see the development of Finn Balor’s career. However, he thinks Balor needs “to believe in himself” more.

What do you think of Mark Henry’s assessment of the current WWE roster? Will he make a good ambassador for the company? Share your thoughts and comments below!
