Tuesday was Kate Middleton’s birthday. The Duchess of Cambridge turned 36 years old. This will prove to be a big year in the life of this future Queen of England as she will be giving birth to her third child in April. In addition, she and Prince William will be traveling Europe in late January and early February. They will be visiting Norway and Sweden. It is not yet known if Prince George and Princess Charlotte will be with them.
Kate lives much of her life in the public spotlight. As a Royal, it’s impossible to avoid the paparazzi. But for her birthday, Kate didn’t plan to be stepping out in public. Her deputy communications secretary stated that she would “be spending the day privately.”
Prince William stated that Prince George likes to dabble in arts and crafts. I wonder if he made his mother something for her birthday that can be hung on the refrigerator.
Like her late mother-in-law Princess Diana, Kate Middleton is seen as a fashion icon. The Duchess of Cambridge’s style is often celebrated and emulated by many as you can see in the video below.
On Sunday, Kate turned heads when she walked to Church with her husband, Prince William and his grandfather Prince Philip. Kate is one of the few Royals who recycles clothes in her wardrobe. The thought of only wearing something once is a luxury most of us only apply to our wedding attire. Kate doesn’t subscribe to this Royal tradition. In the picture below, she is seen wearing one of her favorite winter coats to hide her baby bump.
This is a big week at Kensington Palace. Not only did the Duchess have her birthday, but Princess Charlotte started preschool, as well. Kate took pictures of Charlotte’s first day of school. Click here to see those!
