Raw is 25 years old! WWE is marking the occasion with not one, but two simultaneous events in New York City.

Raw will officially hit the quarter-century-mark on January 11, 2018, and on January 22, Raw will be broadcast live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. At the same time, a second event will be held at the Manhattan Center, the site of the very first episode of Raw. Per an announcement on WWE’s website, the Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash and more will appear at the Manhattan Center event:

Superstars from both Monday Night Raw and SmackDown LIVE will be at Barclays Center, while the event at Manhattan Center, the site of the first episode of Raw, will feature WWE Superstars competing, plus special appearances by WWE Legends The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels and Kevin Nash, among others. VIP packages, including a meet-and-greet with a WWE Legend, will be available for fans at Manhattan Center.

This will be the Undertaker’s first WWE appearance since his match against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 33. This is also the first time in a long time that WWE will broadcast live from multiple locations at the same time. WrestleMania II was famously broadcast live from three separate locations in 1986: Uniondale, New York; Rosemont, Illinois; and Los Angeles, California.

Announce Teams

Since Raw will be in two locations, they’ll need two announce teams. Jerry Lawler is certain he and Jim Ross, the voices of Attitude Raw will be back.

Via The Observer:

Jerry Lawler said that he believes he and Jim Ross will partner up as announcers for the 1/22 Raw show. They are doing the 25th anniversary of Raw from two different locations, the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and the Manhattan Center, so they’ll need two announcing teams. Lawler said he’s 99.9 percent sure he and Ross will be one of those teams

Ross confirmed that they will be in attendance, but he’s known for keeping things under wraps until the last minute to PROTECT THE BUSINESS

Additionally, the 25th-anniversary show will be the go-home episode of Raw before the Royal Rumble in Philadelphia.

In an official statement, WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon said, “We look forward to celebrating this unmatched milestone with our fans around the world, but 25 years only marks the beginning of WWE surprising, delighting and entertaining generations to come.”

It’s truly impressive that WWE is still thriving and innovating the world of professional wrestling 25 years later. Here’s to the next 25 years – and more.
