Have you ever heard the words ‘wow, they almost died?’
In the viral video below, those words ring true for one driver. I have seen a lot of heart-pounding videos in my life, and this one ranks up there at the top.
I have been on the highway in the early morning, very tired and very sleepy, knowing I should take a break and pull over. One year, I was driving on New Years Day during a six-hour trip. At the time, I thought I would make it back to the Air Force base in time to get some early morning sleep before watching college football. I didn’t make any stops and I thought I had a wide open road ahead of me.
The sun was just about to rise when I closed my eyes for a brief second. The next thing I heard was the sound of a tractor-trailer blowing its horn, which made me swerve back into my lane and then pull over.
In the video below, one driver had seconds to think of an escape plan or he could have been killed.
Was I right? Is that considered hair-raising? The way the driver was able to grab control of their car just seconds before hitting the truck is a miracle.
To give you an end to my story, I returned to the Air Force base with no injuries and a new outlook on traveling. I no longer take six-hour trips anymore without stopping periodically to rejuvenate my mind and recharge my batteries.
This video could have turned out very badly for both drivers, but thankfully one driver had cat-like reflexes and avoided the out-of-control truck.
