Update On Sheamus’ Injury – How Much Longer Does He Have?

Many wrestling fans were devastating to learn about the serious condition that could be a career-ending problem for Sheamus’ career. Today, we are giving you an update on his condition.

Spinal Stenosis

Official sources have revealed that Sheamus is suffering from a condition called spinal stenosis. Spinal stenosis is an abnormal narrowing of the spine, which unfortunately does not have a cure at this point in time. Common symptoms of spinal stenosis include pain, numbness, loss of motor control and abnormal sensations around the spine. Naturally, this is one of the worst conditions for a wrestler to have, since motor skills are extremely important for the safety of performers in the ring.

What Does This Mean for Sheamus’ Career?

The repercussions for Sheamus’ career stay unclear at this point. However, the WWE has confirmed that Sheamus will be staying on a regular schedule. He also has some scheduled matches in the future, including a match with Seth Rollins, so it does appear that the spinal stenosis will be managed while on the job.

However, we do need to mention that spinal stenosis is extremely serious. While Sheamus seems to be rehabbing from the condition at the moment, Spinal Stenosis is responsible for the end of the career of the likes of Edge and Stone Cold Steve Austin. How this condition will affect Sheamus, in the long run, is still unclear.

My View

I’m absolutely devastated for Sheamus. He is one of the most successful heels in the company at this time, so these injuries always seem to come at the most inopportune time. However, I also believe Sheamus is far from done and has a lot more in him.

Even if spinal stenosis would force Sheamus into early retirement, I honestly believe there is still a future for him within the WWE. So, if he is forced to retire eventually because of this condition, I hope the WWE has a role lined up for him within the company.

I would like to wish Sheamus the best during his recovery, and I look forward to seeing him in the ring again. I’m sure you’ll have many excellent matches to come, mate!
