The following story may be a tough one to read. It is a story of success, but also a story of devastation and powerlessness against the hated invader we all encounter at one point in our lives: cancer. Here is the story of Matt Cappotelli’s battle with cancer.

Matt Cappotelli Diagnosed with Terminal Brain Cancer

On the 12th of December 2017, the unfortunate news broke that Tough Enough 3 winner Matt Cappotelli has been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. According to doctors, Matt Cappotelli only has a maximum of five years left to live.

Statement Made By Matt

Despite receiving such devastating news, Matt has stated he wants this to be portrayed as a story of unending hope. To honor his wishes, this is exactly what we will do.

“Though it seems unfortunate, I want it to be portrayed as a story of hope…unending hope,”

Ten Years Of Remission

Matt was diagnosed with a brain tumor before in 2017 but has been in remission for more than ten years. Unfortunately, the tumor has now returned.

Despite the nature of the tumor, Matt has decided to continue his treatment. He will fight, but he will need all the support he can get with this battle.

Fundraiser

There is currently a fundraiser going on for Matt, which is meant to help him with medical expenses. As you might already know, cancer treatments in the United States are incredibly expensive, so Matt could certainly use the help with these bills.

A Message of Hope

I can’t even begin to imagine what a diagnosis like that does to a person. I have been fortunate enough never having to deal with cancer myself, but just like everyone else, I have seen many loved ones battle this disease. I wish Matt a lot of courage and strength to make it through this, and I hope he gets the support he needs to continue his fight like the champion he is.
