An enormous cigar-shaped object that is flying through our solar system at high rates of speed is being investigated as a possible UFO.
Stephen Hawking and other researchers are studying Oumuamua, which is described as “an elongated cigar shape, hundreds of meters in length but with width and height perhaps only one tenth as long.”
Hawking’s Breakthrough Listen is leading the investigation and has even “used high-tech scanners to discover if the object was sent by an alien civilization – although they couldn’t find any evidence of this.”
On Wednesday, they observed Oumuamua for 10 hours from the Robert C. Byrd Green Bank Telescope in West Virginia.
Nick Pope, who used to head Britain’s Military of Defense UFO project, believes “While nothing has been found yet, there’s another intriguing possibility: If this ship is an alien probe, it’s possible that our scans will awake the intelligence inside.”
Its speed of 196,000 miles per hour suggests that it is not gravitationally bound to the sun. This fact and the unusual shape have raised many questions as to what it could be. Asteroids tend to be circular in form. Oumuamua is also “flying cleanly” and has not emitted space dust that is typically spotted around asteroids.
Breakthrough Listen’s website reads, “Oumuamua, formally known as 1I/2017 U1, is the first object discovered in the solar system that appears to originate from another star system. Its high speed – 196,000 mph at its peak – suggests it is not gravitationally bound to the Sun and that it will continue its voyage back into interstellar space.”
“Researchers working on long-distance space transportation have previously suggested that a cigar or needle shape is the most likely architecture for an interstellar spacecraft since this would minimize friction and damage from interstellar gas and dust,” Breakthrough Listen said in a statement. “While a natural origin is more likely, there is currently no consensus on what that origin might have been, and Breakthrough Listen is well positioned to explore the possibility that ‘Oumuamua could be an artifact.”
Dr. Jason Wright from Penn State University believes it may be an alien spacecraft with broken engines that is tumbling its way through our solar system.
Initial scans from Thursday’s research and observation did not detect any technology from Oumuamua. Research is continuing to decipher if the reason for that is because everything is broken or because it was never there, to begin with.
Some people believe that this foreign object was, in fact, a UFO, but that it deliberately ignored Earth. If this theory is correct, Earth really must have nothing to offer foreign visitors.

Whatever this object is, there are some people out there that won’t accept the scientific community’s belief that this was no UFO! If a UFO does ever come close to Earth, I hope that we are not simply ignored, as some believe just happened.
