What Made An Atlanta Chick-fil-A Open On A Sunday?

It’s well known that Chick-Fil-A is never open on Sundays. This was imperative to the founder, Truett Cathy, who believed in keeping the Sabbath by taking a day of rest. But, that policy didn’t stand in the way of helping thousands of people who were stuck at the Atlanta Airport on Sunday for hours during a power outage.

These travelers were frustrated and tired. On top of that, they were hungry, too. Chick-Fil-A’s corporate headquarters are in the Atlanta area and they weren’t about to stand idle while people were stranded in their own backyard with grumbly tummies.

After travelers were stuck for hours without power or even hotel rooms to go to, Chick-Fil-A turned on its fryers and got cooking. The City of Atlanta announced they were providing transportation to the convention center for those who needed a place to stay and hungry travelers would be treated to a rare treat – Chick-Fil-A on a Sunday.

Chick-Fil-A’s generosity was met with cheers. They are well known for being closed on Sundays, so everyone appeared to know how special and unselfish this act was as the video below details.

It wasn’t too long ago that liberals tried to get this franchise to shut its doors. They were appalled at the owner’s strong Christian faith and personal support of traditional marriage. They set out with the goal of bullying the owners into submission and bending to their liberal will. They failed spectacularly.

People of faith and people who love chicken sandwiches and sweet tea fought back hard. We went to Chick-Fil-A regularly to show our support. We weren’t about to allow liberals snatch away the joy that comes with eating those wonderful waffle fries.

Since 2010, Chick-Fil-A has been a top earner among fast food restaurants. That’s because of their delicious food, wonderful service, and commitment to the community, as demonstrated by their act of kindness and generosity towards stranded passengers on a Sunday.
