During a batch of NXT tapings, the developmental brand filmed to close out their 2017 TV schedule, there was a shocking title change. The shock is two-fold: how it went down and who ended up with the title. That this happened during a taping and not at a Takeover is curious.

So here we go, here’s the title change. *SPOILER WARNING*

You’ve been adequately warned:

Here’s the change via WWE.com

Undisputed ERA’s Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish became new NXT Tag Team Champions by defeating SAnitY’s Eric Young & Killian Dainduring NXT’s TV tapings Wednesday night at Full Sail University.

That’s right. We have NEW Tag Team champs! I was certain Undisputed Era would grab gold eventually, but I didn’t think it would be this quick and on recorded TV. This isn’t the first time the tag belts changed hands during a TV taping. Blake and Murphy (REMEMBER THEM?) won the tag titles off the Lucha Dragons in 2015.

Congratulations to the Undisputed Era on their victory. Fish and O’Reilly are a killer tag team who combined pro-wrestling with pro-level MMA skills. Fish is an accomplished kickboxer, and O’Reilly has trained extensively in striking and grappling arts like Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

What seems missing from the night is what happens with Adam Cole. According to spoilers, it seems like he will be involved in a feud involving Aleister Black. Black defeated Cole earlier in the night to earn a berth in a number one contenders’ match. Black lost the contenders’ bout due to interference from Cole and Company.

Black vs. Cole would be a marquee main event feud. Both are incredible in and out the ring and could shine when given the spotlight. Further spoilers: Johnny Gargano defeated Black, Lars Sullivan, and Killian Dain to become the number one contender for the NXT title.
