Miami Police Thanksgiving

If you ever see a policeman standing in the middle of the highway, and he’s motioning for you to pull your car over, nine times out of ten you’ve done something wrong. But if you’re pulling over by the police leading up to Thanksgiving in Miami, it might just be for a good cause!

Miami Police Thanksgiving Surprise

As a driver, you might think were caught speeding or driving with an expired license plate. That’s when you start to pray that the nice police officer will let you off with just a warning.

Well, when Miami police officers began pulling over random people, the driver were in for a big surprise.

The Miami police was handing out turkeys instead of tickets!

From CBS Miami:

Drivers in Miami Gardens were able to breathe a sigh of relief after getting pulled over by police Thursday morning. Instead of handing out tickets for traffic violations, like speeding, officers presented drivers with Thanksgiving turkeys instead.

Officers asked for a driver’s license and registration, but instead of returning with tickets, unsuspecting drivers were given the holiday treats instead.

More than 70 donated turkeys were given away during the turkey vs. tickets giveaway.

“This is the time of giving and it’s always good to give back,” said Miami Gardens Police Chief Delma Noel-Pratt. “It’s not always about enforcing the law, sometimes it’s about giving a helping hand to someone that needs it.”

Thanksgiving Turkey Tradition

Check out a report on this wonderful holiday tradition in the video below:

Miami police officers were handing out turkeys. I wouldn’t expect that from ANTIFA or Black Lives Matter. This is how you make a positive difference in a community. Not by blocking a highway and whining like a bunch of kids.

People forget that the police are people just like everyone else and there are good ones and bad ones. You can’t judge them all based on the actions of a few bad ones. These Miami police officers are some of the good ones!

This is such a wonderful story! Ignore the negativity in the world and focus on the positive stories. If you want to help someone, just do it and don’t concern yourself with what others think or say. God bless!
