Ben Affleck Back In Rehab – Insiders Point Blame At His Girlfriend

Academy Award winner Ben Affleck is back in rehab for the second time this year. He completed a stint in rehab for alcohol addiction this March. Only seven months passed since he finished rehab, but apparently, he fell off the wagon hard. His friends had recently been encouraging him to return.

“He knows he needs to check back into rehab. Sources say he was in an upbeat mood and smiled for the paparazzi. The problem is that he wants to go on his terms,” a friend told In Touch Weekly. “He wants to do it on his time, but like most addicts, that time keeps getting put off. This relapse has gone on too long already.”

Some are concerned that his girlfriend, SNL producer Lindsay Shookus, is enabling his drinking. When he attended the Emmys with her last month, Affleck was spotting switching water for whiskey while Shookus drank champagne right beside him. Drinking alcohol next to your addict boyfriend who recently got out of rehab isn’t exactly supportive behavior. In July, the pair were spotted buying a bottle of booze in Maine.

Just as Affleck’s friend noted, he wants to do rehab on his own terms. Rather than check-in and stay at a facility, he is doing outpatient rehab. Shortly after beginning rehab, he was spotted out and about in LA.

Alcohol addiction is nothing to take lightly. Hopefully, he can get the proper treatment to keep him from relapsing again anytime soon.
