Samoa Joe Hints At Speedy Return During Sky Sports Interview

It has been a while since we’ve seen Samoa Joe. As you may know already, Samoa Joe has been suffering from a torn meniscus, which is quite a severe injury. However, he recently spoke with Sky Sports and hinted at a speedy return.

Suffering from a Lengthy Problem

Many believe Samoa Joe got a torn meniscus shortly after SummerSlam, but the truth is that Joe has been suffering from a dodgy knee for some time. Here is what he said about his knee injury to Sky Sports:

“The recovery’s going really well but I’ve only been able to perform at about 80 per cent capacity since joining NXT.”

“Back then I had no chance to take time off because of the WWE opportunity, before I was just treating the knee problem with ice and elevation at home.”

Having Multiple Surgeries

Many people do not realize that Samoa Joe needed more than one surgery, because his knee was not his only problem. When asked about how his knee was feeling, Joe released this bit of information for us:

“Now it’s the best I’ve ever felt, it really is. I also needed nasal surgery as I’ve broken my nose about eight times in my career so I was only breathing at around 60 per cent. You have no idea how invigorating it is now.”

Samoa Joe also hinted at a speedy return to the WWE. He did say he is waiting for the final clearance from WWE doctors. However, Joe also said he would likely be present for the WWE Tour in the United Kingdom and Ireland in November this year.

About His Match with Brock Lesnar

I have to admit, Samoa Joe is probably the only person to ever get a decent match out of Lesnar. He is a remarkable athlete, so I’m quite excited about him returning. Samoa Joe also had some things to say about his former opponent during the interview:

“I’ve proved I’m a formidable opponent. I got in his face, smashed him in the mouth and took it to him,” he said. “I’m coming for him again. It’s going to hurt, it always does, but there are no nuances here, you’ll see two bad dudes just go at it.”

During the interview, Samoa Joe also said the following about the recent developments with Roman Reigns and John Cena:

“Roman Reigns is very good, he’s at the peak of his career. The fans have a bone to pick with him but that doesn’t concern me.”

“He’s WWE’s guy, he’s beaten Cena but he’s never beaten me. Next time I’ll beat his ass.”

My View

Samoa Joe is a prime example of someone who will sacrifice everything for his passion. While I am sad that Joe had to undergo surgery and a lot of recovery, it is good that he finally has the chance to look after himself properly.

Are you looking forward to the return of Samoa Joe? Who should Joe face next? Let us know in the comment section below!
