Former Illinois police sergeant Drew Peterson is behind bars for murdering his third wife, Kathleen Savio, but his fourth wife has been missing since 2007.
Peterson was three decades older than his 23-year-old wife, Stacy Peterson. Before she disappeared, Stacy had mentioned to friends and family that she wanted a divorce. She also had said that she believed Peterson killed Savio. Some believe that Drew didn’t want her to testify against him in a murder trial, so he made her disappear.

Drew has held fast that Stacy left him for another man, but no evidence to support that claim has ever been found. With the airing of a new documentary on Investigation Discovery entitled Drew Peterson: An American Murder Mystery, Stacy’s family is hopeful that someone will remember something and come forward. Stacy’s aunt Candace Aiken told Fox News, “I hope that the viewers will understand who Stacy was, how much we love her and celebrate her life and the time we had with her, we cherish those moments. And if anyone has any information, if they can come forward to let us know. It’s just difficult not knowing… there’s so many unanswered questions… It just seems like yesterday that we saw her.”

Stacy’s children are being cared for by their older brother Stephen Peterson, who believes his father killed Stacy.
“Stacy’s children are doing really well,” said Candace. “They’re excelling in school and I feel like they’re doing really well, given the situation that they’re in. They’re so much like her. I’ve spent time with them, here and there. Just trying to learn about them and getting to know them. And be there for them and support them because I know Stacy would want me to do that. They’re with their older brother Steve. He’s taking really great care of them.”
Candace is hopeful this documentary can spark some interest in Stacy’s case and someone watching the show will remember something about her disappearance or the days leading up to it.
