WWE Signs American Ninja Warrior Kacy Catanzaro

The first four episodes of the Mae Young Classic are finally available on the WWE Network, and episode two contains a small surprise: WWE has signed “American Ninja Warrior” athlete Kacy Catanzaro to a contract.

Catanzaro first gained notoriety in 2014 when she became the first female competitor to complete the “American Ninja Warrior” obstacle course and qualify for the finals. She first set foot in the ring at the WWE Performance Center earlier this year.

Catanzaro is a former Division 1 gymnast; she’s just five feet tall and weighs less than a 100 pounds. But her small stature puts her in good company: two-time Raw Women’s Champion and two-time SmackDown Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss is just 5-foot-1.

Catanzaro has yet to comment on her signing with WWE.

Are you excited that Catanzaro has signed with WWE? Or do you think they should stick to signing more traditionally trained wrestlers? Share your thoughts and comments below!
