Remember Tony Schiavone from WCW? He started as a backstage and promo interviewer and was the voice of WCW during the Attitude Era and Monday Night Wars. After WWF bought WCW, Schviaone retired from wrestling announcing and began a career as a baseball announcer and a Starbucks barista.

Well, good news fans. He’s back! This is the greatest night in the history of our sport! Via SportsIllustrated:

On Thursday, Oct. 5, the longtime voice of World Championship Wrestling will don the headset and provide color commentary for MLW’s One-Shot live from Gilt Nightclub in Orlando.

“I’ve been receiving a lot of tweets asking me to come back and call wrestling matches, and I know this is a ‘one shot’ opportunity, but I am looking forward to seeing if I can do it again,” Schiavone said.

Tony Schiavone was the voice of my childhood. I grew up in a WCW household and always loved Schiavone losing it during another NWO brawl ending Nitro with a breathless “We’re outta time folks!”

Schviaone recently got back into wrestling and recorded a shoot interview about his time in the business.

This’ll be fun! I love when the classic wrestling voices make a comeback! Just like JR in WWE!
