Marshawn Lynch

For the past year, failed quarterback Colin Kaepernick has been one of the most hated players in the NFL over his refusal to stand for the National Anthem.

Kaepernick’s continued protest of the National Anthem has made him undesirable, and no NFL team is willing to sign him to a contract.

Well, with Kaepernick currently out of the NFL, a new player has taken over the mantle of most hated player in the league. This time, that honor goes to Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch, who decided to sit during the playing of the National Anthem prior to Saturday’s preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals.

According to ESPN, Lynch told Raiders coach Jack Del Rio that he had been sitting for the National Anthem for the past 11 years, even though there have been images of Lynch standing for games.

Rather than stand, Lynch instead was spotted sitting on a cooler eating a banana while the rest of the Raiders organization could proudly be seen standing for the National Anthem.

Military veteran Wayne Dupree had some tough words for Lynch, arguing that Raiders fans are likely not going to tolerate such blatant disrespect towards our country.
