The Los Angeles City Council just dealt a big blow to Italian-Americans by nixing Columbus Day in the country’s second largest city. Instead, Columbus Day will be called Indigenous People Day. The vote was 14-1.
Americans of Italian descent testified that Columbus Day was a day for them to celebrate their heritage and canceling it was an attempt to erase their history. But, liberals testified that Christopher Columbus was a genocidal slave trader. In this left wing city, the liberals won.

Italian-American organizations are pushing back against this assault on a day they celebrate their culture. The left isn’t in for a cakewalk on this Columbus Day battle. It’s time to go to the mattresses.
