Could James Bond Be Played By A Woman In The Future?

Some people have suggested that now is the time for a James Bond shakeup, with people suggesting that James Bond be portrayed by a woman in future films.

James Bond is one of the most iconic characters in movie history. Over the last 50 years, Bond has been played by the likes of Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan, Daniel Craig, and Roger Moore.

While fans may disagree over which actor was the best James Bond, his general appearance and mannerisms have remained the same.

Well, some have suggested that now is the time for a James Bond shakeup, with people suggesting that James Bond be portrayed by a woman in future films.

The issue came up after model Cara Delevingne said she would only appear in a future Bond movie if she could play the lead character.

Many people have thought that Delevingne would make a perfect Bond girl, but the model wants nothing of it, saying “Everyone’s saying I’m meant to be a Bond girl but I’m like, ‘no — I’m working on the James Bond aspect first.’ I wouldn’t mind being a Bond girl but I’m going for James. It’s time for a female Doctor Who,” Delevingne told BBC, “and it’s time for a female James Bond.”

While Delevingne wants to play James Bond, one former Bond girl, Hallie Berry, does not support a woman playing James Bond. Berry argues that she “want[s] women to be tough but I don’t know if Bond should be a woman, I mean, that series is steeped in history, you know from Ian Fleming’s stories. I don’t think you can change Bond to a woman. We can create a new Bond character that’s a woman and give her a new name, based on that theory, but I don’t know if Bond should be a woman.”

Military veteran Wayne Dupree also opposes the idea of a female James Bond, arguing that while he has no problem with female superheroes or women playing the lead role in a movie, the history of Bond should not be altered.
