SummerSlam was a mixed bag. There were some good moments, scary ones, and moments that flat-out stunk. But something happened during the Biggest Party of the Summer that is lost in all of the kerfuffles. Dean Ambrose made history.

By winning the Raw Tag Titles last night with former Shield teammate Seth Rollins, The Lunatic Fringe joined a rare club of WWE stars who have won every title, also known as the “Grand Slam.” Not even Roman Reigns has accomplished such a feat. In fact, it has only been done 16 times in WWE. Ambrose joins Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Chris Jericho, and other WWE Hall of Famers.

How Dean Ambrose Became A Grand Slam Champion

Ambrose started by winning the US Title as a member of the Shield, holding it for a record amount of time. After The Shield broke up, Ambrose won the Money In The Bank and won the WWE Championship from his once and future partner, Rollins. After that, he claimed the Intercontinental title several times. Winning the Tag Titles put him in the Grand Slam club. Jericho, Big Show, The Miz, Triple H, and Kane are the only active WWE wrestlers that are members. It is rare company indeed.

Congrats Dean!
