Bob van der Herchen and his family had been hearing noises in their attic for years. He didn’t give it much thought until recently, when he discovered a boa constrictor was squatting there.
“It was actually bunking in the rafter space right above the Florida room chair where my wife sits,” the shocked man said. “It took three and a half minutes for that snake to move into that rafter space…it was bigger than I expected.”
He called a trapper, who caught the killer snake. It measured six feet long and they believe the snake had been living in the home between two and four years!
In the video below, van der Herchen explains that he believes the snake entered the home through a tree branch. You can see video of the snake below.
I have to think that his wife must have been furious when she learned a boa constrictor was living there for so long while her husband discounted the noise! At least they are snake-free now!
