June Foray

June Foray, the woman who voiced the iconic characters Natasha and Rocky in The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show has tragically died at the age of 99.

Foray was called the “woman of a thousand voices,” rising to fame in the early 1960s and was considered a key figure in the animation industry.

Foray’s close friend, David Nimitz, confirmed her death on Facebook and he wrote: “With a heavy heart again I want to let you all know that we lost our little June today at 99 years old.”

In addition to voicing Rocky and Natasha, “Foray also voiced Looney Tunes’ Witch Hazel, Nell from Dudley Do-Right, Granny in the Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries and Cindy Lou Who in Chuck Jones’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas, among hundreds of others.”

Foray continued to voice animated characters for years, and recently voiced Rocky in a 2014 short film Rocky and Bullwinkle and said “I’m still going. It keeps you thinking young. My body is old, but I think the same as I did when I was 20 years old.”

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Foray’s entire family during this tough time. Her contributions to the film and television industry will be missed!

Please share this story if you are a fan of Rocky and Bullwinkle as well as Foray’s many other roles!
