Gary Sinise Surprises 27 World War II Veterans With A Huge Heart-Felt Gesture!

Actor Gary Sinise is not your regular Hollywood snob. He’s not and should never be compared to other actors living in Hollywood.

It seems ever since Sinise played Lt. Dan in Forrest Gump, it changed him into someone focused on helping our military veterans. His foundation seeks out veterans and provides them with services and resources they so desperately need.

Sinise is a hero even though he doesn’t want to accept that title but what he did for 27 World War II veterans is something they will never forget.

Today, 27 World War II veterans made the trip from Los Angeles to New Orleans, as part of the Gary Sinise Foundation‘s “Soaring Valor” trip.

This program brings veterans to the National World War II Museum in an effort to collect stories from these war heroes.

Gary Sinise, known for playing Lt. Dan in Forrest Gump, a role for which he received an Oscar nomination, said this program is all about preserving history and honoring these veterans.

“There’s never been a more devastating war in human history than what happened in World War II.  We have these living, breathing libraries of history.  We want to spend as much time with them as we can,” Sinise said.

Sinise is the man, period.

He does things like this all the time. He doesn’t do it for the recognition and he truly loves this country and its veterans. I just wish I had the money like he does to be able to do stuff like this for our veterans.
