Watching this materialize, your heart goes out for this 67-year-old senior citizen, who was looking at her cell phone before she took a huge tumble into a street cellar. The fall could have killed her alone.

After doing some research, I realized that these cellar doors are open around the city all the time but I want you to look at the picture below. As I said, I studied this over and over and there’s one thing missing from these doors.

Where are the “danger” notifications? Shouldn’t there be tape or barriers to warn pedestrians to walk around the doors while open? The woman is in critical condition right now and I pray she pulls through.

The woman is seen walking right towards the open gates, somewhat oblivious to what’s going on around her. As she looks at her phone, she walks right into the open hole.

A PSE&G utility company worker is there working. He drops what he’s doing and rushes to her aid. Passersby also summon an ambulance, who arrive moments later.

I feel sorry for this elderly woman as my mother is 90 years old and I wouldn’t want to see this happen to her. I fault the city for this 100 percent because there should have been some indicators that workers were in the area.
