A North Carolina teen who had been missing for years was found in a Duluth, Georgia home after being held captive by a 31 year old man.
Hailey Burns was discovered because of a tip from Romania. Hailey sent a woman in Romania a picture from the window in the home she was being held in. The woman was skeptical until she did some online research about Hailey. The teen didn’t know where she was but the picture helped police locate her within 5 hours.
31 year old Michael Ren Wysolovski is now in custody and facing multiple charges. The video below shows the home and reaction from neighbors, one of whom had seen Hailey in the driveway and didn’t think anything about it. You never know who your neighbors are!
Wysolovski had apparently been grooming Hailey for a while to get her to meet him. The teen, who has Asperger’s, obviously wasn’t expecting to be held against her will. Hailey is back home with her family after being missing for 13 months.
It is rare for a child to be found after such a long length of time, but her family is counting their blessings.
