Despite the fact that most WWE Superstars enjoy the spotlight, not all wrestlers are excited about live tapings. This much was clear when Big Show stated that he “hated TV’s.” Here’s the story!
Talk Is Jericho is a place where WWE Superstars can vent their actual opinion; this much has been clear based on interviews in the past. This time an interview with Big Show exposed some the problems with live TV tapings.
During the interview, Big Show made the following statements about the live TV aspect of the WWE:
“I love the Friday, Saturday, Sunday live event shows. I hate TVS.”
“TVs I just wanna bash myself in the head with a hammer … they’re just long, useless, time-wasting, bullsh*t days where you sit around all day for some friggin’ idea that absolutely sucks.”
Later in the interview, Big Show would voice his displeasure about non-wrestlers backstage telling him what to do. He also complained about some of the inadequate storylines.
Big Show’s poignant comments in the direction of WWE creative are not that different from what WWE fans have been saying. The storylines on RAW have been abysmal over the past couple of years, while SmackDown has made some improvements.
The Big Show is not the only WWE wrestler who has spoken out about the use — or non-use — of current wrestlers on the roster. Many wrestlers are left twiddling their thumbs in catering, while only a select view get pushed and promoted like crazy.
Another WWE wrestler who recently spoke out about the backstage problems of the WWE is Nia Jax. During the rivalry between Bayley and Alexa Bliss, other female wrestlers were hardly used. Another example of how RAW creative ruins the careers of many wrestlers and plunges them into the pit of obscurity.
With not only new WWE wrestlers such as Nia Jax speaking out about the backstage problems, but veterans such as Big Show speaking out too, it is clear that something needs to change within the structure of the WWE.
If the WWE does not evaluate the problems with the creative department, the consequences for the company could be devastating. The clear difference in viewer ratings between RAW and SmackDown are a clear signal that the RAW roster is no longer meeting the standard for the WWE Universe. Now it seems that even wrestlers have serious problems with the creative part of RAW and the WWE in general.
