Five-year-old Ari Schultz is a heart transplant recipient who’s undergone three open heart surgeries, but it appears that nothing can stop his joy and zest for life.

Ari recently found out that he’d get to go home after spending 189 days in the hospital – and the video of his joy and elation at the news went viral.

But the good news for Ari didn’t stop there. Fellow Red Sox fan and former Boston College baseball captain Pete Frates, who’s battling ALS, and Red Sox team president Sam Kennedy have invited Ari on a VIP trip to a Red Sox baseball game.

Even Ari’s favorite player, Xander Bogaerts, gave the young fan a shout-out:

“It’s awesome,” Bogaerts told MassLive.com today before the Red Sox’s game at Kauffman Stadium. “I’m looking forward to seeing him. I’m looking forward to meeting him. When we get home (to Fenway) we’ll see what we will do. But it’s definitely awesome.”

Keep on swinging, Ari!
