Country stars have a history of recording Christian music. County Music Hall of Fame member Jim Reeves is one of those stars who was proud to showcase his Christianity in his music.
“Gentleman Jim” sang “Take My Hand, Precious Lord” on his 1962 album “We Thank Thee,” just two years before his death in a plane crash.
The gospel song has been performed by many musicians, but Jim Reeves’s rendition is a favorite of long-standing country fans.
