It’s possible that some people might not know the name Robert “Bob” Wootton. But they should. He’s a guitarist who played with Johnny Cash for over 30 years and he just passed away at the age of 75.
He passed away on April 9th. He leaves behind his wife Vicky and his two daughters Scarlett and Montana.
Wootton took over for lead guitarist Luther Perkins after Perkins tragically died in a house fire. Wootton of course, played on acclaimed songs such as “Daddy Sang Bass,” “Man in Black,” and “(Ghost) Riders in the Sky.” He also played with Cash when he recorded his famous live show at San Quentin prison.
The video below shows Wootton playing “Walk The Line.”
Isn’t that great?
If you’re a fan of Johnny Cash, share this with others as a reminder to people who love his music and those who helped him create it!
