After the Daytona 500 this year, NASCAR honored legend Dale Earnhardt who crashed and died on the final lap 16 years ago.
They honored him in a father-son tribute video featuring Zac Brown Band’s brand new single “My Old Man.”
The video really captures the love Earnhardt has for his son Dale Jr. and his love for the sport.
Watch:
I never was a fan of Dale Earnhardt, preferring to cheer for Mark Martin, but this video really put Earnhardt’s legacy, success, and persona in perspective. It gave me a ton more respect for “The Intimidator.” NASCAR definitely misses his personality and driving talent.
I especially loved the opening segment when Dale Jr. interviews his Dad.
“Are you going to give me some money when you get home?”
Earnhardt responded, “I doubt it. You spent enough down there this week.”
It really captures what NASCAR used to be. A bunch of hard-working men who loved their families and absolutely loved to race!
Don’t you think it’s time we Make NASCAR Great Again?
Share if you were a fan of Dale Earnhardt and the way NASCAR used to be.
