The Top WrestleMania Moments of All Time

Best of the Best of the Best

True wrestling fans are always looking forward to the biggest wrestling event of the year – WrestleMania. Even indie die-hards get pumped for backbreaking action – for us fans, it’s like Daytona and the Super Bowl all rolled into one.

To help you get excited for WrestleMania 33 as well, here are the most memorable WrestleMania moments of all-time!

Hulk Hogan Defeats Andre the Giant – WrestleMania 3

While younger wrestling fans might not remember this one, Hulk Hogan defeating Andre the Giant in WrestleMania 3 was a huge deal. Literally. Andre the Giant was known for dominating everyone in the ring with his enormous size, so the chances of winning looked bleak for the then already-legend Hulk Hogan.

Still, despite the incredible odds stacked against him, Hulk Hogan conquered Andre’s big size by delivering a devastating body slam in the ring. And while body slams are no special thing, consider this: Andre the Giant weighed a whopping 520 pounds at the time. Incredible.

Sorry Sweet Chin Music – WrestleMania 24

Shawn Michaels, a legend in his own right, has always been open about his love and admiration for the Nature Boy, Ric Flair. But little did Michaels know he would be the one to fight Ric Flair for the legend’s retirement match!

Rumors were already circulating about the Nature Boy’s impending retirement, especially since he was being inducted in the Hall of Fame in 2008. His retirement match was one of the most emotional retirement matches of WWE history. Michaels broke down before delivering the final blow, leaving many of us wrestling fans emotional as well. He gave us one of the most iconic moments in the history of the sport, when he mouthed “I’m sorry. I love you,” before hitting Flair with Sweet Chin Music and pinning him. A bittersweet, shocking end to the legend’s career.

Vince Goes Bald – WrestleMania 23

No matter our feelings for him, President Donald Trump was a part of a most memorable WrestleMania moment. WrestleMania 23 showcased the Battle of the Billionaires – between WWE owner Vince McMahon and business tycoon Donald Trump. The rivalry ultimately ended at the event, when McMahon was shaved bald by Steve Austin, Bobby Lashley, and Trump.

Still, the biggest pop from the crowd was not for a bald McMahon, but by the Stone Cold Stunner delivered by Austin to Trump. While precious few in the audience could have ever imagined that Trump would eventually become President of the United States, one thing is certain: no other President has had, or likely ever will have, the honor to receive a Stone Cold Stunner at WrestleMania!

Taker’s Undefeated Streak – WrestleMania 30

No matter if you have been watching wrestling for a couple of years or decades, the end of the Undertaker’s undefeated streak was undoubtedly the most shocking development in WrestleMania history. I still remember sitting in front of my TV screen with my mouth wide open, because I could not believe that a part-timer broke the undefeated streak of the legend.

The streak was so sacred, many believed that it would stand the test of time forever. Unfortunately, WWE had different ideas and the crowd may have been scarred for life after witnessing the shocking event.
