Here’s a great life hack to determine if you really need to toss any food out following a power outage.
Freeze water in a coffee mug. When it’s completely frozen, put a coin on top. When you return, if the coin is at the bottom of the mug, you need to toss your food out. This means your food completely defrosted and then froze again. If the coin is at the top or the middle, your food is likely OK.
