Greta Van Susteren

Greta Van Susteren just announced she has a brand new gig after leaving Fox News a few months ago.

Greta will be taking over the 6pm time slot on MSNBC. She will replace Bloomberg’s “With All Due Respect” which ended in December.

Greta made the announcement on Facebook:

Yes, I have decided. Just a short time ago, I finally tied up a bunch of ‘loose ends’ so that I could make that decision about my future.

MS/NBC is handing me the responsibility of anchoring the all important 6pm news hour and they are giving me the necessary resources to continue to do my best work for the viewers (that would be you) and that is exactly what I intend to do – my best work for you. After almost 25 years in cable news, you all know me very well – I am not changing but the dial where you find me on your remote is now changing to MS/NBC…and, of course, you will probably see my renewed energy and enthusiasm.

I am excited to work with friends who I have known for years at MS/NBC (and even worked with some years ago at both CNN and Fox as we all move around in this business) and I am also anxious to meet new friends and colleagues. The ink is barely dry on my contract and I have heard from many at MSNBC. (I have also made courtesy calls to my CNN competition Wolf Blitzer and FNC Bret Baier. Note, they are not just my competitors…they are first my friends, old friends, and my good friends.)

Cable news is about getting you information (news) and also provoking robust debate about important issues. That is what I have done for years and I am about to ‘get back up on the horse’ and keep doing it for you. MSNBC has a strong history of news and robust debate – and I am delighted to get back in the news business.

The new show will be called “For the Record.” Van Susteren will hit the airwaves on January 9th.

This is the second Fox News host NBC has hired after they brought on Megyn Kelly on Tuesday.

Will you be watching Greta’s new show on MSNBC? Do you think her reporting will change now that she will be on MSNBC?

Share if you are excited for Greta!
