While Barack Obama completely ignores the suffering in Louisiana from their biggest flooding since Hurricane Katrina, Donald Trump and Mike Pence are on the ground surveying the destruction.
Democratic Governor John Bel Edwards is proving cover for Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. Instead of coming to Louisiana, the governor is asking the GOP nominee to donate his money instead.
“We welcome him to LA but not for a photo-op. Instead we hope he’ll consider volunteering or making a sizable donation to the LA Flood Relief Fund to help the victims of the storm.”
Edwards said he hopes President Obama waits a week to come see the destruction firsthand. Of course, he doesn’t want to disrupt the president’s vacation. These are the same people who bitched that George Bush wasn’t sleeping at the Super Dome with displaced people during Hurricane Katrina!
Edwards didn’t implore multi-millionaire Hillary Clinton to give a sizable donation. Hillary is in an awkward spot. If she arrives in Louisiana now, she will be seen as trying to upset her friend Barack Obama.
As you can see from the video below, Donald Trump is already there. He is there to meet with people who are impacted from the storms and see what needs to be done to being the healing process.
Money isn’t the only thing that is needed during natural disasters. Affected people need to know that others care. And a president who golfs without uttering a word, simply doesn’t care. At least Donald Trump is there. That’s what a leader does.
