Alligator, hatching

**UPDATE**

CNN is reporting the body of the 2-year-old boy has been found dead.

Previous Story:

Orlando, Florida has had it extremely rough the past few days. First, The Voice star Christina Grimmie was shot and killed in a murder-suicide. Then Omar Mateen went on a terror spree inside the Pulse nightclub killing 49 people before eventually getting gunned down by first responders.

Now, a 2-year-old boy has been attacked and dragged into a lake by an alligator off the shores of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

The boy was attacked late Tuesday night and is still missing.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office mobilized a search-and-rescue operation through both air and water.

“Right now we’re going to bring in some fresh eyes and continue with the search,” said Jeff Williamson, a spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. “Prepare for the worst, hope for the best.”

Watch the latest:

Teams have found four gators, but no sign of the child.

They are using sonar, a helicopter, and a 10-person dive team to search the Seven Seas Lagoon man made lake. The lake spans about 172 acres and connects to other waterways.

No one knows how many gators are in the lake.

The initial report of the attack came at 9:16 p.m. Tuesday night. Reports mention the father entered the water and tried to rescue his son from the alligator, but was unsuccessful.

One employee who wanted to remain anonymous reported to the Orlando Sentinel, “There is such a problem on property with guests feeding the alligators thinking it’s cool.” He went on to mention there are at least two gators people feed from the balconies.

There is no timetable on the search.

“We just want to keep searching and searching and searching until we can’t search anymore,” Williamson said.
