Super model Chrissy Teigen and her husband, singer John Legend are expecting a baby girl. Chrissy went though invitro fertilization and took it a step farther.
The couple wanted a girl, so they used gender selection of their embryos. Essentially, they decided to play God. After creating embryos, the couple had their doctor only implant a female.
“I’ve made this decision,” Teigen told People. “Not only am I having a girl, but I picked the girl from her little embryo. I picked her and was like, ‘Let’s put in the girl.’”
The Hollywood couple wanted a designer baby, much like ordering a custom dress. Their love for their child is conditional, as they were unwilling to accept a boy.
There are other embryos remaining. The couple plans to have another child, but it is not known what will happen to their unused embryos. These are the smallest of children, but they are still alive.
