Wendy Moniz, who plays Governor Lynelle Perry on Yellowstone, revealed on Sunday that she has finished filming her final scenes in the fifth season of the hit show.
The fifth season will be the last, as show star Kevin Costner has moved on to his biggest project yet, Horizon.
‘I Completed My Last Scene…’
“Series wrap for me on Yellowstone and been having alllll the feels; sentimental, proud, grateful to name a few,” Moniz, 55, wrote on Instagram alongside a series of photos from the set.
“What a beautiful experience I’ve had here; just incredibly fortunate to have worked with so many talented, dedicated, and kind people since 2017,” she continued. “I completed my last scene August 1st, then recalled having previously shared a gratitude post…looking back, it was on the SAME DATE two years ago.”
Moniz went on to talk about how much working on Yellowstone has meant to her.
“There’s been a lot to reflect on, because this place, with the exceptional people who make it live and breathe, has often felt like a home away from home over these last 7 years,” she concluded.

A ‘Gift’ And A ‘Privilege’
In the series of photos Moniz posted, she included a screenshot of a 2022 post of hers in which she talked about her gratitude over working on Yellowstone.
“It is a gift to be working doing something I love; and specifically working on this show,” she wrote. “It’s a gift to be in and around this nature.”
“It’s a gift to be surrounded by so many talented actors, and such a hard working crew,” she added. “It is a privilege to be part of this killer storytelling. This is a gratitude post…please enjoy the view.”
The second half of the fifth and final season of Yellowstone will begin airing in November. Unfortunately, the show’s star Kevin Costner will not be returning to finish out his role of John Dutton. Costner left Yellowstone so that he could focus on his four-part western film series Horizon.

‘I’m Not Going To Be Able To Continue’
“Thinking about Yellowstone, that beloved series that I love, that I know you love,” Costner, 69, said in a video posted to Instagram back in June. “I just realized that I’m not going to be able to continue, Season 5 or into the future.”
“I loved it and I know you loved it,” Costner continued. He added that he “just wanted to let you know that I won’t be returning. I love the relationships that I’ve been able to develop. And I’ll see you at the movies.”

A spokesperson for the Paramount Network soon confirmed Costner’s exit.
“Kevin has been a big part of Yellowstone’s success,” the spokesperson said. “While we had hoped that we would continue working with him, unfortunately, we could not find a window that worked for him, all the other talent and our production needs in order to move forward together.”
“We respect that Kevin has prioritized his new film series and we wish him the best,” the spokesperson added.
The second half of the fifth season is set to premiere on November 10 on the Paramount Network. It will also be available to stream on Paramount+.
