The iconic Alien franchise is back, and this time we have a television show following the horrifying franchise. Fans, get ready, because the trailer for Alien: Earth is finally here, setting up the premise of a crashed spacecraft that brings the dreaded xenomorph to Earth.

Along with showing the premise for the show, the trailer also contains intriguing surprises as one character says, “This ship collected five different life forms from the darkest corners of the universe. Monsters… Invasive species. Predatory.”

Does this mean a potential collaboration with the other iconic horror franchise, Predator? The movies have also been known to cross paths with Alien, so we can only hope that the two intertwine once more.

The official description of the upcoming title is: “In the year 2120, the Earth is governed by five corporations: Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic, and Threshold. In this Corporate Era, cyborgs (humans with both biological and artificial parts) and synthetics (humanoid robots with artificial intelligence) exist alongside humans.”

“But the game is changed when the wunderkind Founder and CEO of Prodigy Corporation unlocks a new technological advancement: hybrids (humanoid robots infused with human consciousness). The first hybrid prototype, named ‘Wendy’ (Sydney Chandler), marks a new dawn in the race for immortality. After Weyland-Yutani’s spaceship collides with Prodigy City, Wendy and the other hybrids encounter mysterious life forms more terrifying than anyone could have ever imagined.”

Along with the trailer for Alien: Earth, we have more news on the television show. The show will premiere on Wednesday, August 13, with the first two episodes. From now on, new episodes of the 8-episode season will be released weekly.

Viewers can watch the series on FX and stream the next day on Hulu.
