Jon Gosselin openly criticized his ex-wife Kate for not going back to work as a nurse as the coronavirus pandemic ravages our nation. Many years ago, she said that she considered nursing as a backup carer and would possibly return to the medical field if she had to.
Jon Blasts Kate
Jon, 43, pointed out that Kate, 45, was a registered nurse before her reality television career. However, she isn’t joining the healthcare workers on the frontlines helping our country through this crisis.
“I have no idea what she’s doing for work. I mean, you think, she claims she has her nursing license, she’d be on the front line,” Jon told The Sun. “That would be a good idea! Just saying!”
Apparently, Kate is indeed still registered as a nurse and her license is good until the end of 2021. Despite this, Jon says that Kate has yet to step in and do her part to help fight COVID-19.

Jon And His Girlfriend Step Up To Help
In contrast to Kate, Jon said that his longtime girlfriend Colleen Conrad is a nurse practitioner. Colleen has been serving on the frontlines every day since this crisis began.
“When you see nurses and doctors, it’s a calling. Even if Colleen got a little sick, she’s like, ‘I’m going to work no matter what. My patients depend on me.’ It’s this inner thing,” he continued. “And then my ex-wife is like, ‘Well I was a nurse,’ and this and that. There’s people who talk about it and then there’s people who talk about it and actually do it.”
Jon went on to say that he has been doing his part as well, as he’s been working in a hospital fixing printers and touching keyboards that he says “may be infected.”
“I just put my hand sanitizer on and put a mask on,” he added. “It is what it is. It’s your job.”
Step Up And Do Something
Jon strongly feels that in a time of great crisis such as this one, Kate should be stepping up to help others as a registered nurse.
“I can call her out right now. If you say you’re this person then why aren’t you doing something? There’s people dying in need,” he said.
He also said he’s frustrated that people aren’t following social distancing and quarantining measures.
He said:
“They keep pushing the date and every state’s different but when people don’t listen, everyone’s just going to stay unemployed.”
Jon and Kate rose to fame on their reality television show “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” which chronicled their lives as parents to a set of twins and a set of sextuplets.
These days, the Gosselin twins are in college, and the Gosselin sextuplets are split up. Jon reportedly has custody of two of them, Hannah and Collin, while Kate has custody of the other four.
Their marriage eventually fell apart, and they divorced. Since the gag order was lifted late last year, Jon’s been vocal about their divorce and their subsequent custody battles. But, Kate has been quiet and hasn’t posted on any social media in months.
They have been in several ugly fights in court. Last year, Kate allowed some of her children to be in her new reality TV show without Jon’s consent. She was found in contempt, and allegedly had to pay Jon’s $1,500 court fees.
Her contract has since been terminated by the TLC network. With no reality TV show and the high need for nursing care during the coronavirus pandemic, will Kate will return to nursing?
