Music fans got a shock when it was reported that 80s-era rocker J. Geils was found dead at his Massachusetts home. He was 71.
He was the vocalist and guitarist of the popular band that shared his name. Their biggest hits came in the early 1980s. “Centerfold” and “Freeze Frame” are songs that many people of that generation still know the words of today. It was hard to turn on the radio at that time and not hear a J. Geils song.
The band has been nominated to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame four times but has yet to be inducted. Now if that honor ever comes, it will have to come without J. Geils in attendance.

The video below has more details about his death.
Police don’t suspect foul play, but have to investigate the cause anyway since the death was “unattended.” With this sudden death, his family and friends could use our prayers.
