Then: Yoko Ono
Yoko Ono is a Japanese artist, singer, and peace activist whose early life was defined by her marriage to the late Beatles legend, John Lennon. Ono was born in Tokyo but spent much of her early life in New York where she became involved in the downtown art scene. Ono met Lennon in 1966 at one of her art exhibits in London. Lennon was Ono’s third husband and the two were married from 1969 until his tragic murder in 1980.
