Less than a week after Cris “Cyborg” completed her UFC contract, Dana White’s reporting that the promotion will not be matching any offers for the former champ.
“Cyborg” faced Felicia Spencer last Saturday night at UFC 240, and worked her way to a decision win. The bout was the last on her UFC deal, and typically, the promotion has an exclusive bargaining window, before other organization’s can negotiate with the fighter.
Well, if you’ve been following “Cyborg” recently, you know that she’s accused White of bullying her, and of lying about her wish to rematch Amanda Nunes. Her team recently posted a video of her confronting White about the latter backstage.
On Friday, the UFC shared out an interview with White, in which he responded to “Cyborg’s” claims. In addition, White claimed he’s going to have his lawyers release the star outright, so she can negotiate with other promotions immediately. He also said the UFC will not be matching any offers for her.
So, now it will be interesting to see where “Cyborg” winds up. Chances are she’ll have not shortage of interested parties looking to secure her services.
