The singer Taylor Swift’s concert in Dublin, Ireland took a disturbing turn on Saturday night when a stage malfunction left her trapped.
Taylor Swift’s Stage Malfunction
The New York Post reported that Swift, 34, was performing her hit song “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” during her second concert in Dublin over the weekend when she found herself stuck on a raised platform. The part of the platform that she was standing on didn’t retract as it was meant to, leaving her stuck right in the middle of the stage.
Thankfully for Swift, her backup dancer Jan Ravnik was there to save the day.
Without hesitating, Ravnik ran to Swift and lifted her up before carrying her off the platform to safety. Like the pro that she is, Swift continued to sing as she held onto Ravnik while making her escape from the platform.

Fans Respond
Fans were quick to praise both Swift and Ravnik on social media.
“He was so graceful, like it was supposed to be part of the show,” one fan commented, with another adding, “And Taylor does not miss a beat!”
“Actually so professional you wouldn’t even know it was an error,” a third user wrote. A fourth person commented, “Where is Travis [Kelce] when you need him?”
This last comment was a reference to Swift’s Kansas City Chiefs tight end boyfriend Travis Kelce. The day after this concert, Kelce flew to Dublin to surprise Swift for her final performance in the Irish city on Sunday. In a clip that quickly went viral on social media, Swift’s face appeared to light up as soon as she noticed Kelce in the crowd.

Swift Honors Stevie Nicks
Also in the audience during this third Dublin show was Fleetwood Mac’s Stevie Nicks, who is mentioned in Swift’s song “Clara Bow.” Swift took a moment to dedicate the song to Nicks before performing it on Sunday night.
“She’s a hero of mine and also someone that I can tell her any secret and she’d never tell anybody,” Swift said. “She’s really helped me through so much over the years. I’m talking about Stevie Nicks.”

Swift’s Eras Tour
Swift is currently on the European leg of her wildly successful Eras Tour. She is next set to perform in Amsterdam this Thursday-Saturday before she heads to Zurich and Milan next week.
Last month, Swift announced for the first time that the Eras Tour will end in December. She said that this tour has “become my entire life” and “taken over everything,” including her hobbies.
Swift acknowledged that the end of the Eras Tour “feels like so far away from now, but then again, it feels like we just played our first show on this tour because you have made this so much fun for us that we wanted to do 100 shows, 150-something shows that we have on the whole tour.”
Swift is arguably the biggest pop star in the world right now. Good for her for handling Saturday’s stage malfunction like a true pro!
