Fans Beg Tom Hanks’ Son Chet To Launch Country Music Career After Hearing His Singing Voice

Chet Hanks, the son of the Hollywood stars Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, has fans begging him to start a country music career after hearing his singing voice!

Chet Wows Fans With Vocal Skills

In last week’s episode of the MTV reality show The Surreal Life: Villa Of Secrets, Chet took part in a talent show. There, the 33 year-old rapper showed off his vocal abilities, and he left viewers more than impressed.

With the actor Tyler Posey, 32, accompanying him on the guitar, Chet performed a song called “Leaving Hollywood.”

“I have experience performing for rap, and singing isn’t like rapping,” Chet admitted beforehand. “You’ve got to really open up your heart and show your soul to people.”

He may only be 33, but that sure sounds like a lot of parents of rap fans around the country right now!

“Once you step in front of a crowd, you feel those butterflies, that nervousness,” he continued. “You have to be able to control your breathing. This is my first time singing in front of an audience. That requires a whole different level of focus for me.”

Chet Earns Praise For Performance

As soon as he began to sing, however, it became clear that Chet had nothing to be nervous about after all! Those watching the talent show were left stunned by how well he sang.

He even got praise from high places.

“Who would have thunk it that Chester is such a magnificent singer?” said the former Olympic figure skater Johnny Weir.

“I did not expect Chet to have a voice like that,” added the Fifth Harmony singer Ally Brooke, who quickly joined Chet onstage.

Viewers were just as impressed by Chet’s vocal skills.

“Chet Hanks should just do country. He has the voice for it,” one fan commented. Another gushed, “Chet Hanks can legitimately sing? I think of all of the castmates, he is proving to be the most unlike his celebrity persona and I am here for it.”

“Um Chet release that song you performed at the pageant I’ll be tuned in to your country music!” a third person commented. A fourth user wrote, “I already was in love with Chet Hanks and now he sings like a 90s rock singer?”

Chet has been in the music industry for many years. He recorded his first rap song “White and Purple” back in 2011, when he was a college student at Northwestern University.

Ten years later, in 2021, Chet was signed to Soulja Boy’s record label SODMG Records. Months after that, Chet released a new track titled “White Boy Summer” under the alias of Chet Hanx.

Chet’s Parents Banned Him From Doing Reality TV

This came after Chet revealed to the world that his parents had initially banned him from ever going on reality TV. However, they made an exception when this offer from MTV came his way.

“They definitely have said [no reality TV] in regard to the typical reality shows,” Chet told Daily Mail, referring to his famous parents.

“When this came up, we discussed it and everybody agreed… we all agreed that this could be a really great opportunity for me and it was perfect,” he continued. “They were really supportive. I was excited and everybody was.”

Chet is clearly having a blast on The Surreal Life: Villa of Secrets. Only time will tell if he gives fans what they want by launching a country music career!
