There has been a lot of excitement in the car world about Ford’s 2017 GT. In addition to having superb aerodynamics and weighing only 2800 pounds, the supercar will have a twin-turbo 3.5-litre V6 EcoBoost engine which Ford claims has a power output of 600 bhp, but it’s quite possible it is capable of more. Ford is claiming this is the best power to weight ratio of any production vehicle in the world.

Ford is only producing a maximum of 1000 of these vehicles. Learn more about this bad-to-the-bone supercar:

While the engine will be powering the Ford’s 2017 GT, there is some hope that Ford will sell the engine to outside manufacturers expanding the pool of drivers who will be able to enjoy its top-of-the-line horsepower and speed.

Ford Performance boss Dave Pericak told Autocar selling this engine to other manufacturers is a real possibility. He even alluded to the fact that talks were already in the works.

Can you imagine having this giddy up when you’re in a rush to get to the store to buy some bacon?
