A distressed man attempting to commit suicide had some unlikely allies. Multiple truckers positioned their trailers under the Orlando bridge he was planning to jump off of. They did this to shorten his fall in case he did jump.

For a while, all lanes on this portion of the Florida Turnpike were shut down. Authorities wanted to make sure the man and those driving were safe.

Truckers have a difficult job that often takes them away from their families for days on end. In addition to that, they also have to encounter distressing situations such as accidents. These truckers were not about to sit idle as this man was planning to end his life.

Florida Highway Patrol tweeted pictures of the rescue. At least six trucks lined up to help this man out. In a world where so many people turn a blind eye to the needs of others, these truckers went the extra mile for a stranger in crisis.

The ordeal lasted about an hour before the man was talked down to safety but knowing someone cares is a powerful thing. Imagine the distressed man realizing that these people who didn’t know him cared enough about him that they stopped their routes to help save him.

It’s remarkable to see something like this happen. In the hustle and bustle of today’s fast-paced world, this is a beautiful reminder to slow down and look outside yourself. You can see video of this rescue below.

Thanks to law enforcement officers and these truckers, this man’s life will continue. Hopefully, he will receive the treatment he so desperately needs and comes to the realization that his life has worth. Maybe now he’ll see that so many people banded together to save him because everyone’s life matters.

Let’s all pray for his healing and bless the fine people who stopped what they were doing to get involved that day.
