Nichola Joss was fighting for her life in a hospital. Doctors had told her to get her house in order as her condition worsening. They believed she was going to die.
Joss is a celebrity facialist. Meghan Markle is one of her clients. But, sepsis is deadly. It doesn’t care who you are or who you know.
She had been fatigued for months but dismissed it as being from stress and a busy mother. The facialist to the stars had fallen ill five weeks earlier. At first, doctors believed she had a kidney infection, but it was much worse than that. She had an abscess. An ovarian cyst was leaking into her body and causing her organs to stick together.
Doctors couldn’t remove the abscess because it was leaking fluid and would cause significant scarring throughout her organs.
After going into septic shock and being resuscitated, doctors said she might not live. “We thought I had 90 hours to live,” Joss said. “My infection rate was 500 and it should be 5-to-12 percent; no one was able to help me.”
Her parents even flew from Spain to Britain to help make arrangements for her children should she pass away.
Against her doctors’ orders, she decided to try a liquid probiotic as she was concerned about her gut health, particularly since Joss suffers from Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Her assistant gave her a sample of Symprove and she drastically began to improve.
She immediately began to feel better and scans showed her organs soon were no longer sticking together. Doctors were baffled.
“I kept going back for checks over nine months and every MRI showed significant healing. The abscess disappeared,” she said.
Consultant gastroenterologist Dr. Adam Farmer, from the University Hospitals of North Midlands, reports that research suggests probiotics can help battle sepsis.
Joss plans on taking this probiotic the rest of her life as it has dramatically helped her. She even reports that she feels less fatigued since starting the supplement.
