Police Are Warning Drivers About A Terrifying New Carjacking Method!

Police are warning people of an alarming tactic that was used in an attempted carjacking in North Carolina.

A 33-year-old North Carolina woman was driving home at night from her job when she saw someone in kid’s clothes sitting in the middle of the street. As she got closer, two males in hoodies jumped out and pulled on the door handles. Fortunately, they were locked.

It wasn’t a child sitting in the middle of the road. It was a dummy. This sort of tactic preys on the caring nature of people who would want to help a child. But instead of being a hero, they become a victim.

Police warn people not to fall for this tactic in the video below from a local news station:

Tips from the public have led police to three juvenile suspects, ages 10, 14, and 17. One of them told authorities this was a prank to get people to hit the dummy and freak out thinking they hit a child.

That excuse in itself is alarming and it’s not funny – at all. But, it also doesn’t jive with the driver’s report of her car door handles being pulled on. It seems these three are in for a world of hurt. No matter what their intention was, it wasn’t good and now they have to pay a price.
