Topeka Police Officer Aaron Bulmer is being hailed as a hero after saving a preschooler from drowning in a pond. And it was all captured on his body cam.
Bulmer witnessed a four-year-old boy walking towards a pond at Topeka’s Central Park. He kept his eye on the boy, as he was alone. The boy soon fell into the pond. Bulmer took off, pulling the struggling youngster from the water. He handed the boy off to a passerby and called for an ambulance.
The police officer credits God for putting him in the right place at the right time. “I believe that God put me into that situation. He allowed me to be in the right place at the right time,” he said. “It definitely would have been a drowning if I would have been 30 seconds to a minute later. That kid would have drowned. He was flailing his arms and his head was fully submerged — you can actually see that on the video.”
You can see the dramatic rescue video below.
The boy is autistic and had wandered from his house, which was near the park. Bulmer is being hailed as a hero for saving the boy.
