Sabrina Carpenter made her Grand Ole Opry debut on Tuesday night and made sure to make an impression with a stunning gown.

The singer took the stage in Nashville wearing a black, one-shoulder outfit that glittered with diamonds and crystals under the theater’s lights. The piece was absolutely stunning on her and was an archival piece designed by Bob Mackie.

The designer shared the look on Instagram, describing it as a “black jersey one-shouldered strip dress, with large crystal and diamond gemstones.” The dress was originally designed for actress Ann-Margret in the 1970s, intended for her nightclub act, and has since become a fantastically preserved vintage piece.

The Tears singers completed the look with glittery heels and her signature retro-inspired blonde bombshell blowout. “Last night i made my @opry debut in Nashville and what a magical night it was,” Carpenter wrote in the caption of an Instagram post shared on Wednesday, Oct. 8.

“thank you to the showstopping band that accompanied me last night,” Carpenter wrote on Instagram, sharing photos of herself backstage and dancing during the show. “thank you to my amazing fans who came out and for the Opry frequenters that opened me with welcome ears and hearts :’) I’m a lucky girl!”

The country legend, Sheryl Crow, introduced Carpenter’s performance, who included a photo of herself and the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer in her post. And Carpenter shared her love for Crow, saying, “The brilliant @sherylcrow took the time to come out and introduce me and i am the biggest fan ever so that made my whole night alone if nothing else!!!”

This isn’t the first time that Sabrina Carpenter took to wearing a vintage Bob Mackie for an event. Just a few weeks ago, while attending her Studio54-themed post-VMAs 2025 party, the singer slipped into a 50-year-old dress once worn by Cher herself.

Along with that, for the red carpet at the 2024 VMAs, she chose a strapless white crystal-covered Bob Mackie gown worn by Madonna.

For fashion enthusiasts, collectors, or huge fans of Sabrina Carpenter, you can get your hands on the most recent vintage dress. California’s Julien’s Auction House is hosting a Bob Mackie auction on December 3, selling more than 50 pieces, including the most recent dress worn by the pop star.
